Some kitchens just have something. A rhythm, a warmth — the kind of energy you notice before you've even looked at the menu. Khao Pla is one of those places. We sat down with Chef Ning from Khao Pla to talk about the dish you need to order, what keeps her coming back every day and where it all started.
How long have you been at Macquarie Centre?
Khao Pla has been part of the Macquarie Centre for eight years. We are very grateful to be part of such a wonderful community.
Which item on your menu is a must-try for customers?
A must-try dish is Pla’s Pork Ribs. The pork is slow-cooked until tender, and we make the sauce in-house. It is one of our signature dishes and a customer favourite.
What do you love the most about your job as a chef?
What I love most about being a chef is seeing customers enjoy the food. It makes me proud when customers smile, come back again, and share our food with their family and friends.
What are your favourite shops at Macquarie Centre?
I enjoy the coffee shops at Macquarie Centre, especially before starting work. I also like how convenient the centre is, with supermarkets and many great stores all in one place.
What made you want to become a chef / how did you become a chef?
I started working in the kitchen many years ago. At first, it was just a job, but over time, I fell in love with cooking. I enjoy learning, working with the team, and creating food that makes people happy.
