Tell us about your store? 
Health Freak Café is a franchise that began in Perth, Western Australia over seven years ago and has grown to 12 successful cafes around Australia. 
I myself travelled as a corporate executive involved in Health & Wellbeing for over 15 years. I was introduced to Health Freak Café during one of my WA jaunts and was immediately sold on the concept. Our brand is about health, fitness & the community. Given my own passion for healthy & tasty food, I couldn’t wait to bring the brand to Sydney so everyone could share in the experience.

What sets your café apart from other cafés?
At Health Freak Café we strive to offer our customers healthy tasty foods, we are 100% gluten & refined sugar free, catering for diverse dietary requirements including:
  • Coeliac
  • Vegan 
  • Keto
  • Paleo
  • High Protein
  • Low Carbohydrate.
The macros are disclosed across our entire menu, making it seamless for customers following strict calorie requirements. We welcome everyone at Health Freak Café, it’s all about the food; 'where healthy tastes so good.'

What does your typical day look like?
The day starts bright & early at Health Freak café, prepping the food starts long before our doors are open. Weekday mornings are pretty chilled, building into the usual lunchtime rush however, weekends are chaotic from the time we open! Our team are friendly & approachable, we always strive to give the best possible experience as we are part of a really happy working environment. We get a lot of questions about the food & ingredients we use throughout our menu; we seem to attract a number of customers with allergies, so we always do our best to research dietary requirements and accommodate.
What would your top 3 tips be for success as a new retailer coming to Macquarie Centre?
  1. Location, location, location – you need to choose the best location for you to ensure you are being exposed to as many passing customers as possible.
  2. Marketing – you need to understand your consumer, whether it be brand building, providing unique offers or market specials.
  3. Staff – your team is so important to the experience of your customer. Concentrating on building a great team will ensure success for your business.
