Ideas for Staying In On Rainy Nights

1. Cook a hearty dinner

Instead of heading outside in the wet weather and going out for dinner, why not pick up all of the ingredients for your favourite recipe from Woolworths and cook up a storm! A miso caramel pork shoulder with crunchy slaw or lamb cutlets with mint sauce will be sure to please the whole family.

2. Run a bath with essential oils

For a relaxing end to the day, run a bath and add a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Lavender, chamomile and ylang ylang all have calming effects, to help you relax. To ensure the essential oils diffuse in the water, be sure to mix them with a carrier oil (such as olive oil or coconut oil) first. We recommend 1 tablespoon of your chosen carrier oil for every 15 drops of essential oil.

The Body Shop have a great selection of essential oils to choose from.

3. Enjoy a face mask

The cold air combined with indoor heating can be detrimental to your skin. Take the time to give your skin some extra TLC by applying your favourite face mask. Your skin will thank you for it the next day!

4. Snuggle up in some flannelette pyjamas or a cosy robe

A pair of flannelette pyjamas and fluffy socks, will be sure to keep you warm and cosy on cold, rainy evenings. Peter Alexander have plenty of pyjamas in various prints and patterns, with styles for the whole family. If not, rug up in a cosy robe, like the Elisa Spa Robe or Luxury Quick Dry Robe from Sheridan.

5. Tea and a good book or movie

Pour yourself a cup of tea (or hot chocolate) and snuggle up with a good book or movie. From non-fiction to fantasy, Dymocks have a great range of books, including best sellers such as Normal People by Sally Rooney or The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams.
