The health and safety of all of our customers continues to be our primary focus and we are working hard to ensure Macquarie Centre is clean and hygienic for all visitors and staff.
Update Wednesday 27 January 2021
The NSW Government have announced that masks will be encouraged but no longer compulsory in retail venues as of Friday, 29 January 2021. Masks will remain compulsory for front-of-house hospitality staff, hairdressers and beauticians. Our cafes, restaurants and Food Court will still have limited capacity as the 1 person per 4sqm rule remains in place.
Despite the easing of restrictions, we continue to remain diligent in our cleaning processes with a focus on key areas such as hard surfaces and bathrooms. Hand sanitisers also remain in place at all entrances for customers and retailers to utilise.
We encourage our retailers and customers to monitor and follow NSW Government advice. To ensure you receive the latest information, alerts and answers to frequently asked questions please visit www.health.nsw.gov.au/
Here’s what we are doing to ensure our centre remains clean and hygienic when you visit:
✔️ Nightly deep clean of all furniture and bathrooms
✔️ Installation of extra hand sanitiser stations throughout the centre, including the food courts and at all entries
✔️ Physical distancing signage throughout all entries, food courts, seating areas, lifts and escalators
✔️ Cleaning rotations every 20 minutes in busy areas such as bathrooms and food areas
✔️ Daily hospital grade cleaning
✔️ Increased guards to monitor physical distancing
✔️ Signs in front of retail shopfront outlining how many people are allowed in each store
✔️ Signs on and in front of every escalator and travelator
✔️ Signs both outside and inside elevators and on elevator floors
✔️ Ongoing staff support and training to keep you safe
✔️ Regular public announcements, every 10 minutes reminding our customers to physical distance
✔️ Providing queuing aids to our retailers including floor stickers and bollards
✔️ Introduction of green vests for our cleaning team for easier identification within the centre
✔️ Distribution of hand sanitisers to customers and retailers
Let’s get through this together by practising physical distancing of 1.5 metres at all times. We rely on visitors to act responsibly to ensure our community remains safe and clean.
We are committed to ensuring Macquarie Centre remains a safe and clean place to visit whilst we continue to support the needs of our community. Stay safe and clean.
LET US ANSWER SOME OF YOUR QUESTIONS:
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT THE CENTRE TO MISS THE CROWDS?
As we are constantly monitoring customer traffic within our centre, we are aware of the off-peak times and have this information available here.
We are also working with our retail partners to extend their trading hours during the key sales and holiday periods to allow more people to visit during off-peak hours.
To see an individual store’s trading hours please visit their store page on our website.
HOW WILL YOU BE MANAGING CROWDS AT THE CENTRE?
We have been following government and health authority advice since this situation started and have taken every step to keep our centre clean and safe and that all physical distancing practices are being adhered to.
We have had extra cleaning and security staff, and this will continue with the addition of COVID Mall wardens, who will focus on managing crowding and moving along any customers not physically distancing.
We are working closely with each of our retail partners to ensure they have clear communication on numbers allowed in store and physical distancing queuing set up.
Whilst we have taken additional measures to provide a safe and hygienic environment, we must ask everyone to work together to protect our community. When visiting the centre please remember to:
