5 Ways to Stay Motivated When Working From Home

Working from home has become the new norm for many people. Comfortable loungewear has replaced corporate attire and our beloved pets have become our new work colleagues. Whilst some of us have been enjoying the advantages of a working from home, the secluded nature of along with a long list of distractions makes it easy to lose focus. Use these simple tips to help you stay productive and get you through the working week.
 
1. Maintain a consistent morning routine
Maintain your normal morning routine by setting an alarm. Waking up early to go for a walk or completing a workout has many benefits for mental health, work productivity and focus. Even if you don’t do a workout in the morning, make sure you get dressed and out of your pyjamas so you can indicate to your brain that it’s time to wake up and get things done.
 
2. Set up a dedicated workspace.
Find a space in your home that is free from clutter and added distractions, with a clean desk and a comfortable chair. 3. Plan out your day

4. Schedule breaks

It might be making a cup of tea, putting on a load of washing, a quick call to a colleague or friend or a meditation. Make sure you also schedule in a lunch break and eat mindfully away from your workstation.
 
5. Keep media consumption to a minimum
During uncertain times, it is easy to develop a habit of checking online news and social media channels regularly. Schedule in time to check your social media and emails. If you have a big task to complete, work through it first and then check your accounts for any updates. If the temptation of social media becomes too great, turn off the notifications and put your phone out of sight until you have finished the task at hand.
