3 Easy Trends to Introduce to your Wardrobe this Autumn

By Hayley Cooper, Personal Fashion Stylist
Mastering Autumns fashion trends is easier than you think. Stick to classic pieces and up your styling ante by adding in this seasons colours, prints and textures. Strong trends filter into accessories and are an equally effective way to add interest. Mixing seasonal trends into your wardrobe create an opportunity for you to shape your style for the season and move your wardrobe seamlessly into Autumn.
Here are three super easy trends that will instantly kick-start your Autumn wardrobe:

1. Soft Hues

Give new life to your wardrobe and liven up your colour mix with fresh neutrals of cream and white, rich caramel, mocha and natural earthy shades. Accessorise with hints of textured gold, deep tan and creamy oatmeal. Bonus; these soft, dewy tones will still go with the hundreds of black tops you already own!
The key to wearing a head to toe neutral outfit is to stick to 3 different shades to ensure you have enough depth to your outfit and that your lighter colour combo isn’t flat and boring. I recommend pairing cream, washed out denim and tan with some yellow or rose gold accessories for the easiest combination.

2. Check Prints

An old favourite that returns almost as much as leopard print, this season checks are transitioned to work across houndstooth, gingham and plaid versions of the check print trend. Keep the print as the focal point of your outfit, let it stand out on its own and pair it back with classic wardrobe staples so it doesn’t look messy.
Check prints are exceptionally easy to wear, especially if they include black and white. This makes them no-brainers to pair with black or white pieces for a monochromatic look, or add a splash of colour for some interest that won’t look out of place.

3. Pops of Pink

Unexpected and a bold choice for an Autumn colour palette, take centre stage in one of the happiest, feel-good colours there is. No need to overthink your outfit, just slip into your statement piece and you’re good to go!
Pink is a flattering shade for most skin tones. With so many variations available it’s never been easier to wear this fun shade. If the tone is too pale and is washing you out, or if it’s feeling overly bright and slightly overpowering, option for a pink piece with texture; silky and knitted fabrics, or a print. This will tone the colour down to work better with your skin tone.
